Gentoo Media announces double C-suite departure following “strategic reorganisation”

Gentoo Media has announced the impending departures of two members of its C-suite as part of a restructure the affiliate said will “further the company’s long-term growth objectives”.

The company’s chief sales officer, Gioacchino Morsicato, and chief technology officer (CTO) Vadim Jefimenko are both set to leave the company, although their respective departure dates are yet to be confirmed.

Morsicato first joined the Gentoo Media in September 2017, before the company’s split from Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) last year.

Initially joining as a senior account manager, Morsicato also held the role of director sales and account management at GiG Media, as the business was then known, from May 2020 to December 2023 before landing the chief sales officer position in January 2024.

Prior to joining the company, Morsciato spent two years at Betsson between February 2015 and August 2017 as an affiliate manager.

Jefimenko has served as Gentoo Media’s CTO since January 2024.

He first joined the company in February 2018, initially working as a lead software developer.

After serving as head of software development from October 2019 to May 2021, Jefimenko spent two years as director of engineering at GiG Media.

Before joining the company, he worked as head senior developer at Videoslots from January 2016 to February 2018.

According to the affiliate, the departures form “part of a broader strategic reorganisation designed to further the company’s long-term growth objectives and evolving operational needs”.

A company statement read: “The strategic reorganisation reflects the company’s commitment to enhancing operational efficiency, driving innovation and positioning Gentoo Media for its next phase of growth.”

Back in February, Gentoo Media appointed Mads Haugegaard Albrechtsen as its new CFO, in addition to promoting Paul Gatt to general counsel.
