Churchill Downs up 11 per cent with record-breaking 150th Derby Week

Churchill Downs Incorporated generated record fourth quarter 2024 revenue of $624.2, up $63m or 11 per cen with the year as a whole increaseing by the same 11 per cent to reach $2.7bn, up $272.6m.

Fourth quarter 2024 revenue increased $40.2m due to a $19.6m increase primarily from the opening of The Rose Gaming Resort in Northern Virginia, a $10.4m increase from our other Virginia HRM venues, a $4.1m increase from our Southwestern Kentucky HRM venue, a $2.7m increase at Churchill Downs Racetrack, a $2.1m increase from our Northern Kentucky HRM venues, and a $1.3m net increase from our other HRM venues.

Full year 2024 revenue increased $182.4m due to a $57.2m increase at Churchill Downs Racetrack due to a record-breaking 150th Derby Week, a $25.9m increase in Northern Virginia including the opening of The Rose Gaming Resort, a $17.2m increase from the opening of the Rosie’s Emporia HRM venue in Southern Virginia in September 2023, a $39.5m increase from our other Virginia HRM venues, a $41.5m increase from CDI’s Kentucky HRM venues, and a $1.1m increase from our New Hampshire venue.

CDI also opened the Terre Haute Casino Resort in Indiana in April 2024, and the hotel in May 2024 and Owensboro Racing & Gaming in Owensboro, Kentucky on February 12, 2025, with 600 historical racing machines, a retail sportsbook, simulcast wagering, and food and beverage offerings.
