Dependable Innovation

G3 sits down with JCM Global’s Senior VP of Sales, Marketing and Operations, Dave Kubajak, to discuss both the progress of its robotics installation at MotorCity Casino Hotel, and the remarkable innovations launched each year by the company.

If you’re unfamiliar with JCM Global’s integrated robotics ICB ASAP system, it stands for Intelligent Cash Box with Automated Secure Asset Processing. ICB ASAP utilises industrial-grade robots to automate count room tasks, enhancing productivity, efficiency, and security. The system comprises four robots that handle the unlocking, opening, content removal, closing, and locking of cash boxes. This automation reduces human contact, minimises errors, and increases throughput, processing up to 240 cash boxes per hour—nearly double the speed of traditional methods. In addition, JCM’s ICB ASAP was recently voted a “Most Innovative” product for the third consecutive year in the Eilers-Fantini G2E Vendor Survey 2024.

In October 2024, JCM celebrated the first anniversary of ICB ASAP’s installation at MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit. Over the year, the system processed thousands of cash boxes, with projections to handle over 260,000 in the coming year. This milestone underscores the system’s reliability and efficiency in real-world casino environments. By incorporating robotics into cash handling, JCM Global addresses labour challenges and operational inefficiencies in the gaming industry, setting a new standard for automated secure asset processing.

At the G2E show in Las Vegas, G3 sat down with JCM Global’s Senior VP of Sales, Marketing and Operations, Dave Kubajak, to discuss both the progress of the installation at MotorCity Casino Hotel, and the remarkable innovations launched each year by the company.

Celebrating a Year of Robotics Excellence

We are proud to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the robotics system installation at Motor City Casino in Detroit. Over the past year, this state-of-the-art system has processed more than 200,000 cash boxes, with each box capable of holding up to 1,000 banknotes. That represents a staggering amount of cash handled efficiently and securely by our robotics system.

Motor City Casino has been a key partner in adopting innovative solutions, and their decision to integrate robotics a year ago continues to set them apart as industry leaders.

A Strong Advocate for Innovation

The success of this system is evident not only in its performance but also in the enthusiasm of MotorCity Casino Hotel Chief Information Officer, David Nehra. As our strongest advocate, he’s gone so far as to say, “You can tell anybody anywhere to call me, and I’ll tell them why they should buy this robotics system.” Having a customer so willing to champion our technology speaks volumes about the impact and reliability of our solutions.

Achieving this milestone required a significant team effort, especially given the initial reluctance in the industry. For a while, potential customers told us, “I won’t be the first.” Motor City Casino, however, embraced the opportunity, partnering with us to become the first to implement the system. Their success story has now paved the way for others, shifting the conversation to, “Who can I call for a reference?”

Overwhelming Success at G2E

The robotics system was a showstopper at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E). The booth was bustling with visitors eager to see the system in action. On the very first day, we demoed the system by processing over 1,200 cash boxes, replicating the efficiency of a real casino count room in a large integrated resort. This hands-on demonstration showcased the transformative potential of our robotics system, leaving a lasting impression on attendees.

Driving Innovation: Back-to-Back Awards

Innovation has always been at the core of JCM’s mission, and we’re thrilled to have been recognised as a Most Innovative Technology at G2E for three consecutive years. Two years ago, it was our robotics system. Last year, it was ICB ASAP and the DSS Clear digital signage, and this year it was our latest version of ICB ASAP. Customers know that when they visit JCM Global at G2E, they will see groundbreaking technology that redefines the industry standard.

Expanding Digital Signage to New Frontiers

This year, we’ve expanded our award-winning DSS Clear digital signage to include outdoor applications. Whether it’s adorning a building facade or creating an immersive entrance to a casino, the new weatherproof, transparent signage (rated IP65) is a game-changer. It’s a seamless blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal, designed to leave a lasting impression on guests.

Additionally, we’ve introduced DSS Clear Circles, pushing the boundaries of traditional signage by integrating architectural design with cutting-edge technology. Unlike heavy, sound-dampening signage for structural purposes, these circles enhance the play space, creating unique and engaging environments that attract visitors and make them want to stay. This is how we help our clients reimagine their spaces, transforming dark ceilings and ordinary interiors into visually captivating environments.

Innovation as a Commitment

Every year, we aim to unveil technologies that inspire and excite. Our commitment to innovation ensures that when customers visit JCM, they see something new, revolutionary, and tailored to their needs. This year, our robotics system and advanced digital signage solutions delivered on that promise, solidifying our reputation as the leader in gaming technology.

From cash-handling solutions to digital signage that redefines spaces, JCM continues to empower our partners to create environments that are not only functional but also unforgettable.
