Entain adds Square in the Air director as head of social media 

Entain has announced the appointment of former Square in the Air exec Richard Bloch as the company’s new head of social media.  

Bloch joins the operator after spending four years at the PR firm from November 2020 to December 2024.

Alongside his Square in the Air role, Bloch also worked concurrently as a director at the company’s US-facing PR division Chalk+Dog from August 2022 to January 2025.  

A 23-year industry stalwart, Bloch joined Square in the Air from William Hill, where he served as the company’s head of social media from September 2017 to October 2019.  

He worked his way up to global head of branded content and social media, a position he would hold from October 2019 to September 2020.  

Prior to Hills, Bloch had a spell at PokerStars as global department head of social media from June 2013 until August 2017. He moved to the poker operator as a social media marketing manager in June 2012.

Bloch also spent time at Betfair as an international PR manager from April 2008 until June 2012, as well as early stints with evoke (then 888) and Rank Group in the companies’ respective PR divisions. 

Writing on LinkedIn about his appointment, Bloch said: “After four amazing years at Square in the Air, during which time I worked with some incredible people, it’s time for my next adventure. 

“I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve joined Entain as head of social. For those who know me, you’ll know this role is right up my street – strategies to craft, audiences to engage, memes to create and big ideas to bring to life.
