Light & Wonder has snared a 20% equity stake in London-headquartered slots studio Bang Bang Games for an undisclosed fee.
Under the remit of the deal, Bang Bang Games will gain access to the Light & Wonder Spark programme, which provides smaller studios with the support and market access required for growth.
Prior to taking a minority ownership in the business, Light & Wonder added Bang Bang Games’ content to its aggregation platform, OpenGaming, in October 2023.
Then, in January 2024, Light & Wonder helped facilitate the studio’s launch in the US, initially with BetMGM before rolling out to other operators.
The company’s games are live with a series of leading operators including Entain, William Hill and LeoVegas.
The studio was co-founded by Frank McPolin and Dan Rostron in 2020.
Rostron previously spent time as a developer with Gamesys and Scientific Games, while the pair worked together at Endemol Shine Gaming where they helped produce TV show-themed slots.
As per Companies House filings, Bang Bang Games held net assets of £479,710 as of 31 March 2024, up from £236,107 12 months prior.
The supplier has 14 live games listed on its site, with another five placed on a public roadmap for release by June.
Alongside ancient Egyptian and Roman-themed titles, Bang Bang Games is also working on an Ace Venture: Pet Detective slot.
Stuart Banks, Light & Wonder igaming MD for global partnerships, said: “We’re incredibly pleased to welcome Bang Bang as a partner. They’re a talented team with a proven track record and an exciting and engaging vision.
“This investment is a great example of how we support studios through the Light & Wonder Spark programme – helping them grow, scale and succeed on a global stage.”
McPolin added: “We’re incredibly proud to take this next step in our journey with Light & Wonder.
“Being part of the Light & Wonder Spark programme has already opened up fantastic opportunities for us, and this investment is a strong endorsement of the work we’re doing.
“With Light & Wonder’s support, we’re in a great position to build on that momentum, grow our reach and deliver even more bold, creative content to players globally.”
