Novibet’s Brazil country manager, Angelo Alberoni, has confirmed he has departed the operator after just shy of two years.
Appointed in April 2023, Alberoni spent 22 months at the helm of Novibet’s Brazil operations, during which time he saw the firm receive a licence to operate in the recently regulated market.
The regulated Brazilian market launched on 1 January 2025, with Novibet named among the approved operators to enter the arena.
Under his watch, Novibet also secured a front-of-shirt deal for Brazilian football club Fortaleza and sealed a TV sponsorship agreement in Brazil with ESPN.
Prior to his Novibet stint, Alberoni served as Brazil country manager for Betsson, based out of the operator’s São Paulo offices, from July 2022 until March 2023.
Alberoni’s time at Betsson was preceded by an eight-month spell at Betcris between October 2021 and May 2022.
The former Novibet figure has also held roles with Malta-based Bet Entertainment Technologies Limited, as well as a near seven-year spell at Drinbet.
Announcing his exit via LinkedIn, Alberoni wrote: “After nearly two years of challenges, learning and achievements at Novibet, the time has come for me to take on new horizons.
“I want to express my deepest gratitude to all the colleagues in Brazil and Greece who have been part of this journey.
“Each one of you has contributed uniquely to my personal and professional growth, and for that, I am incredibly thankful.
“It has been an amazing experience working alongside such talented and dedicated people, and I carry many special memories with me.
“Now, I am ready to embark on a new challenge, both personally and professionally, and I’m excited about the possibilities the future holds.”
Last month, Novibet confirmed CFO Al Alevizakos had also left the operator ahead of its impending majority acquisition by Allwyn.
The operator of the UK National Lottery announced late last year it had a purchased a 51% stake in Novibet’s parent company, Logflex MT Holding Limited.
Alevizakos had served as Novibet’s CFO since September 2023 prior to the acquisition and departs for private banking firm Alpha Bank.
