The Unit has announced an investment of €500,000 to launch a new, in-house marketing agency, tentenseven.

Heralded as an “exciting” next step in the Irish igaming and sports betting supplier’s expansion efforts, what was once The Unit’s marketing team will now operate as its own entity in tentenseven.

Earlier this month, the business unveiled a refresh of its visual brand identity, which included a new company logo and a revamped website, designed to reflect The Unit’s “recent growth and ambitious expansion plans”.

As part of the brand refresh, The Unit’s efforts will now be devoted to product design and development, while tentenseven will handle all marketing strategy.

The new marketing arm considers SEO, PPC, editorial content, brand strategy and influencer marketing services as its core areas of expertise.

Feargal Byrne, The Unit’s director of strategic marketing, has been appointed to spearhead tentenseven as director of igaming, ecommerce and fintech.

Byrne has been with The Unit since January 2018 when he joined as head of digital marketing from GiftsDirect.

In July 2022, the former BoyleSports and BetBright head stepped up to become director of strategic marketing.

Reflecting on his new role, Byrne said: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to lead tentenseven as director of igaming, ecommerce and fintech.

“This is an exciting period for The Unit as a company, and with this significant investment, tentenseven will have the capability to expand and make further headway in the market. That’s great news not just for us, but also for our clients.”

Paddy Casey, The Unit co-founder, added: “After kicking off 2025 with our brand refresh, we are redefining our structure as a business.

“With additional funding in place, we think now is the right time for tentenseven to stand in its own right as a marketing leader in the industry. With this investment, tentenseven has the means to grow and maximise its potential in the coming years.

“We expect to see tentenseven expand in the short and long term, just as we expect with The Unit.”

The firm has recently opened its new North American hub, based in New York, with Mark O’Hare, The Unit’s head of business development and account management, entrusted to oversee the relocation process and growth in the region.

This month has also seen a similar development in Europe, with The Unit opening a new 180 sq ft office in Chișinău, the capital city of Moldova, that is expected to house more than 30 staff members.
