### Irish Footballer Suspended for Betting Violations
Ryan Rainey, a player for Finn Harps FC, has been suspended by the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) for six months due to breaches in betting regulations. These infractions occurred during various League of Ireland and Men’s FAI Cup matches between 2021 and 2024. Additionally, the FAI reported that Rainey placed numerous bets on international football games in 2024. Following a disciplinary hearing, an Independent Disciplinary Committee determined the need for a ban, a decision later confirmed by the League of Ireland, where Rainey’s club competes.
Rainey, who has a past with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the English Premier League, recently admitted to the Irish Independent that he struggles with a gambling addiction.
### Tennis Official Faces Four-Year Suspension for Betting Infractions
The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has handed a four-year suspension to Damjan Dejanovic, a tennis official, for violating six counts of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Programme (TACP). Dejanovic, a national-level official in Bosnia and Herzegovina, confessed to betting on professional tennis matches but refuted allegations related to manipulating scoring data and conspiring to commit corruption in two matches he officiated. Diana Tesic, the anti-corruption hearing officer, determined his culpability for all six breaches, which occurred between 2022 and 2023. Dejanovic is suspended until January 7, 2028, and has been fined €5,000 (£4,140/$5,281).
### Omnigame Gains B2B Licence Approval in Denmark
Game studio and operator Omnigame has successfully obtained a B2B licence in Denmark, allowing them to offer content in the region until 2029. With the introduction of new legislation in January 2025, requiring suppliers to secure fresh approval from the regulator Spillemyndigheden, Omnigame is among the early recipients of these new licences. The company exclusively provides its in-house developed games for the Pip.dk brand in Denmark.
